...Elevated Fire Weather Conditions Expected Early This Week... A cold front on Monday will usher in a much drier airmass accompanied by strengthening northwesterly to northerly winds that will be supportive of more active fire growth in the early part of the week. Despite the front, Monday will still be a very warm day. With drier air moving in, relative humidity is expected to dive below 20 percent away from the coast. Winds will increase to 10 to 15 mph as they become northwesterly. On Tuesday, reinforcing cool air will keep relative humidity from falling as far, but it will still be dry as minimum values of relative humidity fall below 35 percent away from the coast. Also, winds are expected to be stronger on Tuesday, reaching as high as 20 mph with higher gusts. Continue to monitor forecasts in the coming days for the latest fire weather information. Be extremely cautious with activities that may start fires this week and/or consider postponing to another time.
