In keeping with High Island ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a student was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. The student was part of our remote learning platform the last two weeks and has not been on campus since Oct. 30.
Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
We are working closely with the Galveston County Health Department on this matter.
We ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. Practice social distancing and be safe.

The census starts in March and ends in July and determines the billions of dollars we receive in funding from the federal government.
