Dear Parent/Guardian,
In keeping with High Island ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that another staff member tested positive for COVID-19. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
We are working closely with the Galveston County Health Department on this matter. High Island ISD went to our remote learning platform on Monday, November 2 and will continue to be remote for the remainder of this week and all of next week.
We ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. Practice social distancing and be safe.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Superintendent Travis Grubbs at (409) 286-5313 or visit our website at www.highislandisd.com.

NOTIFICATION OF CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE ON CAMPUS
November 1, 2020
Dear Parent/Guardian and HIISD Staff,
In keeping with High Island ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families and staff that another staff member who was lab-confirmed has tested positive for COVID-19 as of today, November 1 at 5 p.m. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
After contact tracing, you will be notified tomorrow by 10 a.m. if it was determined that your son or daughter was in close contact with the individual.
Due to the number of staff members being exposed, we feel our safest option at this time is to move to our remote learning platform effective Monday, November 2. This remote learning platform will last for two full school weeks. At that time, we will re-evaluate the situation.
If your son or daughter does not have their device, we will be posting information on how to obtain their device on the district website and our social media site. Please look for that important information tomorrow.
Please take care of yourself. Remember to social distance. We will keep you apprised of further updates.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school at (409) 286-5313 or visit our website at www.highislandisd.com.
