The High Island Cafeteria is committed to providing students with healthy school meals.
This school year 2019/2020, our district will be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision.
All students may receive one free breakfast and lunch tray, daily. If a student brings a lunch from home, they are still allowed to receive a free tray. Please encourage your students to eat in the cafeteria.
The Cafeteria uses a computerized meal account system. All students have an account. Please feel free to send money to put on your child’s account for snack bar and extra items. Money can be deposited to your child’s account in any pre-payment amount through cash or check. If you have more than one child, please designate how you would like the money divided. Make checks payable to High Island I.S.D. Once your child’s account becomes low, you will be contacted either by mail and /or phone call.
On certain days, students will be offered a la carte items to purchase. The High School students will be able to purchase extra portions upon availability. A snack bar will be available with Smart Snack approved items to purchase. Students may purchase extra milk for $.50 a carton.
A student must have cash or money on their account to purchase items. There is a no charging for snack bar or extra items.
If you wish for your child not to purchase extra items, please send a note to the cafeteria.
Menus are subject to change without notice if necessary.
Free and reduced meal applications are no longer required .
