3rd Grade Teacher
I graduated from Kountze High School in 1987. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I began my college career later in life where I attended Lamar University and graduated in 2006.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an EC-4 certification. I am also certified to teach English Second Language EC-4. I am currently working to become certified EC-6.
This is my first year to teach for High Island ISD. I am so excited to be part of this amazing school district! I will be the 2nd and 3rd Grade teacher.
After graduation in 2006 I began my career as a 1st and 2nd Grade teacher for Lumberton Independent School District where I taught for 6 years.
For the past 5 years I have been a 1st Grade Teacher at Sallie Curtis Elementary for the Beaumont Independent School District.
I have been married to my amazing husband Michael Cowley for 3 ½ years. When we married I became a “bonus” mom to two wonderful adult kids Blayne and Brenna whom I love as if they are my own. They both live in their hometown Upstate New York where they are building their careers.
Michael and I have 4 fur babies who keep us busy! We have 2 small dogs, Roscoe and Lyla Jane and 2 older cats whom we call “The Old Ladies”, BeBe & Grizzly.
Michael and I are full time RVers where we live full time in our 5th wheel. Michael has the privilege of working from home which frees us up to travel during the summers. I also enjoy decorating, hiking, reading and spending time looking for treasures on the beach. I enjoy nature and being outside but most of all spending time with my family and friends.
