I started teaching in 1967 at High Island I.S.D. I did not intend to teach for 48 years but now I have started number 49. My goal is to teach 50 years for a personal goal. I have taught Languge Arts, Reading, Senior English, Freshman Spanish, and this year I have added Middle School Social Studies. During my career I have had Cheerleaders and the very special honor of helping Jerry Whitaker coach basketball. Thanks to Mr. Whitaker I stayed in High Island and taught the Island children and it has been a JOY.
I have one child, Michael Shea Riley, he was the love of my life until Haiden Michael Zane Riley, Madalynn Gail Riley, came along and now he has taken a back. I am also blessed with three other beautiful young ladies that I consider my grandchilren Destiny Lowery, Savanna Ritchie, and Karlee Richie-the Lord truly has blessed me. Brandy is my daughter-in-law and she is definitely a diamond and she is very loving and kind and an Excellent cook (for a northerner.)
I started teaching in 1967 for High Island ISD. It was an exciting experience for me because was only here for a year and I was not staying. Well here I am fifty years later. Well it has been not only an exciting experience and but a very memorial one. I have one son, Michael Riley and two wonderful grandchildren Haiden and Madalynn. I enjoy reading and studying my Bible and SLEEPING when I am not teaching.
